Sagara is a pretentious moron. Even after Kouta obviously refuses, Sagara tells him to create a prosperous new world, like, why does he still think he has any power over Kouta's actions? Nobody here cares what Sagara's saying! He's dumber than Swartz and only a few brain cells smarter than Gif!

This is exactly one of the reasons why I criticize it though. Like, did you know that Zack was originally planned to be killed by Kaito instead of only having his Driver busted? Fortunately, he was a popular character so Takebe vetoed Urobuchi, similar to how Yukimi was spared in Revice. Maybe there are darker stories than this, such as Ryuki, but there are typically lighter characters to balance it out. There wasn't really anybody in Gaim who was like, "I'm going to make this better". Even in a world of sugar and rainbows, if the characters are all cynics, then the world will feel like that as well.

Oh, so you consider Kaito the final boss instead of Teenage Girl Kougane.... I guess I can't blame you for that. I used to dislike Gaim VS Balon a lot due to how killing Kaito doesn't feel like a heroic outcome. Now, well, actually I still kind of dislike it, but I recall DreadBringer made a good point that Kaito's lack of development isn't Kouta's fault. That's what annoys me about Kaito, that his cynical philosophy is pretty much the same from start to end and he won't be persuaded otherwise unless someone literally kills him to prevent him from committing genocide.
