That premise is fine, but it confounds me why Toei are giving special treatment to this tacky golden poser, instead of paying attention to Majade and Valvarad who actually deserve it. They could've done something simple like Shinobi and Quiz in Zi-O.
"Tacky golden poser", haha. He
is
tacky. That title fits him perfectly because Kaguya/KR Legend is tacked on to Gotchard's main storyline. He's the producers' golden boy, quite literally.

Tsukasa's perception of canon is whatever world he's passing through at the time, where he gains new abilities as required of his role in that world. Ryoutarou's perception of canon is every timeline he's ever lived in, as being a singularity point means he remembers everything anyway.
Houtarou vaguely remembering the events of the Legend special reminds me of how Tsukasa's photos always come out blurry, which is the irony that Tsukasa's hobby also happens to be the only thing that he admits he sucks at doing. Houtarou doesn't belong to that world, so his memory of it is like those photos. We can also see that Shinji, a regular human, at least has short-term memory of non-canon experience, which is enough to punch Odin.
Canonicity relies on the consistency of internal logic. As far as I can remember, no one in the fandom debated about the canonicity of Den-O's series and solo films. The debate began when the Cho KR Den-O & Decade Neo Generations film aired. Many in the fandom view Cho KR Den-O as non-canon due to Decade's involvement. To many Den-O fans, the only Ryotaro Nogami is the one portrayed by Takeru Satoh, although his appearance in Heisei Generations Forever was also considered non-canon, haha. We're talking about canonicity from our perspective, not the characters'. Because, come on, everyone knew that Cho KR Den-O was just Toei/Bandai's another attempt at milking some more moola from Den-O's popularity, haha.
If Houtarou's memories of Kaguya's world is blurry due to him not belong there, then Kaguya's (and Butler's and also Hundred's members') memories of Houtarou's world should be blurry too due to them not belong here. But then, it would mean that Hundred's members should not remember about Kaguya's world either.
Regarding Shinji's memories that enabled him to punch KR Odin in episode 28, there was nothing non-canon about it. Ryuki's story always hinted at the possibility of multiple iteration of the Rider War made possible by Kanzaki's use of the Time Vent card. The story even hinted at the glitches in the fabric of reality caused by Kanzaki's abuse of the Time Vent card. The events in the series, film, and special were all canon because time travel (or rather, time reversal) and the resulting glitches were implicit internal rules in Ryuki's story. No one debated about the canonicity of those unseen events.
So, TLDR:
Unseen events =/= Non-canon. And vice versa: Seen events =/= Canon.

Are you sure that that term has existed since 2009? As far as I know, the term "aurora curtain" was a term coined by Japanese fans to refer to the interdimensional portal, since the series never gave it a name whether in dialogues nor official promotional materials. It was probably used due to its visual similarity with the one from Inazuma Eleven 2: Kyoui no Shinryakusha below.
As far as I know, the first mention of the term "aurora curtain" in official materials was in
the synopsis for KR Zi-O's 45th episode
on TV Asahi's website. Although I'm not sure whether it was an official acknowledgement or merely quoting the fandom, since it was mentioned not in dialogues but only in synopsis. That was the only mention of it during the whole KR Zi-O series, long after Tsukasa's debut in the series. The entry on KR Zukan was probably based on that synopsis.

The dude basically sells the Legend Rider Cards for them, and they love promoting Legend Merch in their toylines. Which is why he's gotten priority over other Riders when it comes to retail releases.
Yep. Money speaks louder than words, or in this case, the story.
