Kekera did get proud of Keiwa, albeit Kekera's thing is also about having a mindset of finite happiness and encouraging Keiwa to help his family at the expense of others by this. At the end Keiwa chooses Ace's teaching over Kekera's, proving Kekera's teaching wrong by saving both of Kekera's hostages and Ace (Kekera expects only one of those to get saved), thanks to Daichi's cooperation - also how Kekera pits both against each other, but the opposite becomes his downfall (this sounds more like Rinne-Atropos against Gaelijah). A mindset can be what drives/teaches someone to villainy, the teaching is defeated in the final battle, albeit it impresses Kekera too.
