Yeah, I thought it was pretty clever how the foreshadowing was subtle enough that Sumire's secret only becomes clear towards the end, when Dai starts putting the pieces together. Then it's confirmed when he sees the grave. So tragic that he already got separated from his parents and then he experiences this as well. Poor guy.
