The story of Satoru Tojo (KR Tiger) is based on Raskolnikov from Crime and Punishment. Like Raskolnikov, Tojo is captive of his prejudices, considering himself not what he is. Of course, Tojo dies in this case, but this is already due to the general rules of the Ryuki world.
Also, Tojo is clearly listed as mentally disabled, so any claims that it shows a condemnation of the craving for heroism are nonsense. Tojo is clearly shown to be incapable of distinguishing between good and evil, but nevertheless drawn to goodness. He is also highly dependent on other people, and therefore his attempt to kill the Impeler is just a desperate step to gain independence. And that is why the understanding of his failure has such a strong impact on his psyche.
