I think this is where the show comes down on it, and it absolutely fits Eiji's reduced vision on how best to do good in the world. It's still just sort of weird to me that some guy gave a family what looks to be a couple hundred bucks and it sped them towards ruin? Eiji's right that giving money can make things worse! (Just don't bring up his plot in Movie War Core!)

It did get mentioned here in passing by Eiji when he's talking to Sakata, yeah. "I tried to give a bunch of money to a poor country, and it ended up in the hands of the bad guys..." It's the first thing he says in his story, which makes everyone go "A Bunch Of Money?!"
