As a related question, it seems like sixth rangers always get their own robot, but are there any who just have non-humanoid mecha and only get to be in a humanoid robot by combining with the other rangers?

That one is fairly easy. They mostly always get a full blown mech.
Dragon Caesar and Top Galer are the only two.

Several sixths do need additional components to become humanoid, but they often debut alongside them (Or close to), and are essentially treated as their personal mechs. Gao Silver's personal animal is Gao Wolf, but the other two are his as well. Same for Gosei Knight's Ground Leon, but owning the Air and Sea Leon Headders, too.
