I always think that how Stomach Inc. work is a counterpart to Hapipare, where both try to cheer people up and make them happy, but obviously, Stomach Inc. does that for their personal gain that it's only to increase the flavor of their product and they'd kill off those happy humans, while Hapipare does that for the right reasons. I feel the show haven't taken notice of this comparison yet, before going for Lisel and Sachika.

Ofc they aren't, but there can be media or writers or such that would think it's nothing wrong for one to be assholes for comedy, and I do see some kind-natured characters being made like that. For example in KR, I feel Inoue would be the type that is more likely to do that. And for your Zi-O example, it's even more obvious example of how they aren't the closest compared to others; regardless of your feelings to the character, Geiz obviously likes Tsukuyomi better than Woz and is closer to her; thus he treats her better compared to Woz (and to Sougo, in the beginning), while Woz obviously likes Sougo better than Geiz, and his actions are mainly to support Sougo, even though his intentions are twisted, while Geiz was his enemy at a time that Woz personally eliminated for Sougo's (Ohma Zi-O) sake, and that Woz also has encouraged Sougo to throw Geiz and Tsukuyomi under the bus as well.
