The reason why I inquire about it...mainly because of the fact that it covers Super Sentai, Kaijuu, Ultraman, and Kamen Rider (obviously). I attended this on 08-2023. There were specific people that I actually got to meet (although I'm a bit slow on the Ultraman uptake to be honest). During that time...they actually had Ultraman royalty there.
One of my main objectives was to meet and interview the prop master himself Mark Richardson. This guy worked on MMPR all the way to Wild Force. We had a great chat about the franchise and of course...I inquired a bit about the late JDF with him. One thing he told me, that JDF definitely took a lot of time to connect with fans and he signed almost a LOT of stuff. Which explains why...I somehow stumbled upon a script of the episode Clean Up Club for MMPR...signed by the late legend. (I didn't see that coming, I'll be honest).
My highlight of that visit besides meeting him was running into Furuhara-san and Gaku Sano-san. (Gaim Himself). What wasn't surprising was that my best friend who went with me told me that the room for the panel was VERY SMALL and could only accommodate a certain number of people.
I partook in the panel attendance for Go-On Red (and to my surprise, we learned that the day that me and my best friend attended, which was a Saturday...it was Furuhara-san's birthday. So we got to sing Happy Birthday to him). It was good to be honest. I still have the audio recording saved. When I came out...the line for Sano-san WAS BANANAS. It wrapped around the entire outside exterior of the main hall in the building.
Overall, I definitely got some good stuff. I also got my little booklet of the theme for Gaim signed by Sano-san himself (which was the reason why I brought the single with me). I also ran into Rich from Sentai Jackets since he knew that I placed an advanced order for some headbands and we discussed a bit about the franchise and all and he showed me the Lightspeed Rescue jacket that he made for his shop and the story behind it.
