Well, this episode does look very dystopian. All these mass scenes with people being pressed... Horror!
Shouma faces the consequences of his decision. Access to the world of Granute is now closed to him (and, apparently, to all Stomatch, since Lango is officially dead, Nyelv is a traitor, and Jeebh is dependent).
And as soon as Shouma calmed down a little and began to enjoy life again, a wave of artificial happiness and submission occurred, engulfing all people.
Faced with Nyelv, Shouma is not ready to fight his recent ally. But Hanto is ready, still harboring a grudge for his murdered mentor. All this leads to a spectacular fight with an unexpected ending, but more on that below.
By the way, considering that Hanto froze with a silly grin, I think the show missed an interesting opportunity. It would have been funny if the toxin had only partially affected him and, having retained his free will, he had behaved grotesquely and inappropriately optimistically. Oh well, no big deal.
Interestingly, this time Lakia plays the role of peacemaker. He understands both of his friends and suggests that Hanto put himself in Shouma's shoes. Unfortunately, he copes much worse with the task of saving Sachika and Masaru, which leads to a fight with Jeebh. This fight was not shown, but its outcome is quite unpredictable. Especially considering that Jeebh has reached the stage of acceptance in his suffering and is now able to act more thoughtfully. And now it’s time to talk about Nyelv. If Lango is a complete antithesis of Shouma, even in small ways, and Jeebh is following a dark version of his path, then Nyelv is related to the protagonist of the show by his original status. Considering how much younger the twins and Shouma are, he was the weakest and most worthless in the Stomatch family for a long time. You could say that he was a light version of Shouma for Granute. But the difference is that Nyelv had no help. He had no friends, and even with his family or people he liked, like Suga, Nyelv made deals, not made friends. And in deals there is always the possibility of betrayal. That is why Nyelv did not trust anyone but himself, and this is what destroyed him. It is funny that Bocca defeated Nyelv not by force, but by outwitting him, humiliating his main pride: intellect. But it was inevitable, because even the greatest mind will inevitably make mistakes sooner or later. The tragedy of Nyelv is that he is not a typical madman with no feelings, but deliberately behaves as such, because he believes that feelings are unimportant and dangerous. Ironically, hating his grandfather, he continues to follow his precepts. I think to some extent this applies to Bush.
Nyelv's desperate desire to destroy Bocca is also not surprising. President Zeludak is basically a Zomb at its maximum. As for the death itself, yes, it looks ridiculous, but it doesn't bother me too much. There is a slight unexpectedness to it. Friedrich Barbarossa, one of the greatest military leaders of the Middle Ages, drowned while crossing a not very dangerous river, and Genghis Khan was killed by alcohol. Life is unpredictable. Plus, don't forget that this is the result of Bocca's actions.
The preview promises that Lango will finally make his move. And Shouma, in order to defeat the invincible president, will make a deal with his older brother. I wonder where this will lead.
