Likewise, I don't feel as though Baku was being mean toward Nem at all when he told her play her part later on. It's moreso a different way of him saying "Just keep on as you have been." He's trying to give her some relief, not stress.

It's also nicely set up and followed through on at the start of the episode, wherein Baku almost immediately realizes where exactly the black hole flung him.
