Favorite New Show of 2025
Okay, this isn't a complete blow-out, but I'm going to say Kamen Rider Zeztz. The police and investigation element reminds me of Agito and I really like the way it uses dream logic in the editing.

Favorite New-to-You Show of 2025
Didn't start anything new this year. I did start watching Tiga (and I do intend to get back to it at some point!), but I'd already seen about 15-20 episodes of it.

Favorite Movie, Miniseries, or Special of 2025
Girls Remix wins this one by default as it's the only thing I watched that fits into this category.

Favorite Rewatch of 2025
Going back through Kamen Rider OOO again with Die's watch thread.

Favorite Male Lead Character
Sorato from Ultraman Omega. Really fun character; I really love the way he balances being a serious hero and an innocent blank slate at the same time. I'm a little iffy on Omega as a show, but I absolutely love Sorato.

Favorite Female Lead Character
As has been pointed out, if you consider this in terms of "woman who transforms into a hero" then this year has been incredibly sparse, especially if you're like me and you don't watch Sentai. I'm personally willing to count prominent characters who don't directly fight monsters, though, which means I'm absolutely going to vote for Sachika from Gavv for all of the reasons everyone has already mentioned.

Favorite Male Supporting Character
Lakia, aka Kamen Rider Vram from Gavv. Fun character with fantastic vibes; really enjoyed what he added to the show, both in and out of the suit.

Favorite Female Supporting Character
I really like Nasuka from Zeztz, but my dark horse entry for this category is Sayuki Uta from Omega. I have some issues with Omega and the fact that it feels like the show's premise was reworked halfway through is absolutely one of them. It gave us Uta, though, and she's delightful.

Favorite Villain
I'm pretty sure this is not going to be a popular opinion, but I freaking loved Lizel from Gavv. I'm a sucker for a villain who is relentlessly and cheerfully terrible and Lizel fits that description to a tee.

Favorite Returning Past Character
Somehow Akiko Narumi has become the Tachibana Tobei of the Girls Remix web series and I kind of love that. W holds a special place in my heart and I'm always happy to see its characters come back, even the one who took the longest time to grow on me.

Favorite Actor
For reasons already discussed under "Favorite Male Lead" this goes to Shori Kondo. Sorato wouldn't work nearly as well if Kondo didn't absolutely nail the part.

Favorite Actress
This one is really close as I have several good choices here, but ultimately I'm going to go with Rina Onuki, who plays Nasuka on Zeztz. I love a gleefully terrible villain and I also love a character who is just barely managing to put up with the lunatics she's found herself surrounded by. Nasuka absolutely hates being in this show and Onuki does a great job of making that frustration incredibly entertaining to watch.

Favorite Writer and Director
Yeah, I have not been keeping up with these this year and I don't feel like trying to remember and look up specific episodes.

Favorite Suit Design
Going to be Ultraman Omega for this one. Really great costume and I love the integration of the slugger as the transformation.power-up device. Honorary mention to Kamen Rider Nox and his sweet silver helmet with the orange visor.

Favorite Weapon/Vehicle/Mecha
This one goes to the... pause to look up the name on the Wiki... Breakam Zeztzer from the very obvious source if you look at that name (that very, very stupid name). I love a modular weapon and this is basically the Dengasher 2. It comes reasonably close to not looking entirely like a roleplay toy, too.

Favorite Fight Scene
Not going to look up the name of the monster they were fighting, but the fight from Gavv where Valens and Vram had to fight a monster while stuck to each other.

Favorite Dramatic Scene
Episodes where someone forms an owner/pet relationship with a kaiju almost always gets me. There was an early episode of Omega where the monster let Omega kill it to save the life of the girl who'd been taking care of it. Depressing but really well done.

Favorite Comedic Scene
I"m going to follow in Kiwami's lead and say every scene where Nasuka and Fujimi climb into and/or out of Baku's bedroom window. Love it every time, especially Nasuka's facial expressions.

Biggest "WTF did I just watch?" Moment
This was going to be the absolute cavalcade of insanity that was Shoma's hallucinations after eating ice cream for the first time, but that moment got eclipsed by the wildly uncomfortable moment where Nem's manager became entranced by seeing Nem as a child. I'm going to be charitable and assume that it was intended to be sweet but it absolutely did not come across that way in execution.

Favorite Song
Another vote for Visions. Have to respect a theme tune that works in the phrase "easy-peasy."

Favorite Piece of Merchandise
I go the Lucky Cat Dragonzord a few months back, finally filling a specific hole in my collection with a really nice, desk-sized figure.

Biggest Surprise of 2025
Toei finally entering the modern era and making Zeztz officially available internationally. It wasn't nearly as smooth of a process as it could have been, but it's something I honestly didn't think we'd ever see.

Biggest Disappointment of 2025
This one is on myself for falling off of Kamen Rider Gavv. I was really enjoying the show, but I feel a few weeks behind and never managed to catch up. I think I just hit a point where I couldn't handle the junk food thing. There's just a level of cognitive dissonance between a show dealing with themes of addiction to harmful foods and a belt that literally shouts "Eat candy! Eat candy!" when the hero transforms. There came a point where I just could not put up with that anymore.

The Onari Memorial Award for Single Worst Thing in Tokusatsu, 2025 Edition
I have not watched a single second of Gozyuger, but everything I've heard about the Maya Imamori firing - both official reports and rumors - makes it sound like a dumpster fire of Hibiki proportions.

Most Anticipated Tokusatsu Project and/or Merch of 2026
I'm very curious to see what Project RED ends up being, but I wouldn't say I'm anticipating it because I think there's a good 50% chance it turns out to just feel like Sentai with a fake mustache. The new Garo series, on the other hand, has me very excited. I enjoyed the last Ryuga series, but this one is going to fix my biggest complaint about it by bringing back Rian. Those two always worked better together than they did solo.
