I feel like it has some aesthetic/conceptual similarities to Sentai but it'll mostly come down to execution. I think it's meant to be a spiritual successor to Sentai AND Metal Heroes.

The original Gavan had Mecha scenes, albeit a lot of those were in space. Toei probably needs to find a reason to use their miniature city sets anyways.

Keeping everything that was still somewhat successful (Red, Silver, and Gold being the only heroes, giant robots) but mashing it together with stuff from modern Kamen Rider (collectible transformation devices) and the basic aesthetics of the Space Sheriff trilogy.

It certainly looks slick, but nothing about this feels new.
