In Baku's line of work, there are no coincidences! I suspect these kids are his future kouhais, being trained as agents in CODE's cram school. Lady could've sabotaged the program somehow to implant the shared dream of the strong Demon King Nightmare.

Now that you mention it, I do think Nox has a similar motivation to Amatsu Gai. In Zero One, Gai explained that while he did give Ark data on human malice, it was Ark itself that made the judgment to destroy Daybreak after condemning humanity as bad. Therefore, in Gai's mind, this is a case of "don't shoot the messenger". Nox uses similar moral dissociation to acquit himself of wrongdoing. CODE left him for dead, so they are "evil", so him opposing them makes him "good", even when his actions are much more harmful. A person who commits evil in the name of good can be a terrifying enemy!

That's my only complaint about this arc, the RPG setting got totally wasted! Maybe the Five and Six VS Four subplot should've got separated in to a different episode.
