In short, the line is selling. Apparently, the Masks and the Auto-Morphin' Figures might be selling better than we've been giving them credit for, and that the Masks might be an indication that modern kids are in fact gravitating towards the old show.
We "adults" in the fandom might need to reevaluate some things.
As for the complaints about the Thunder Megazord helmet, there is also the idea that this could simply be a prototype. If true, it might look better...

... when the Thunderzords are actually available.
It's good to see that kids are resonating with the old Power Rangers. However, this doesn't really address the elephant in the room - Dragonzord & Titanus - they clearly know that it's expected and I get they have to market their collaboration with Godzilla. Playmates obviously knows we want at the very least a Dragonzord with that Godzilla+Dragonzord figure seemingly filling that void. At least they probably expect it to do so at the moment. To give them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps they were contractually obligated to release the collab figures before even announcing the Dragonzord. I wouldn't know why they would do this but it's the only thing I could think of... unless they plan to release Tommy's zords all at once... but would that mean we have to wait until season 3 with the release of the Ninja Megazord and Falconzord? If they have plans for the Tigerzord why not also acknowledge plans for the Dragonzord? Skipping that just does not seem appropriate if they intend to release the Tigerzord. I get that this is a kids toy line and the kids are gravitating to the role play stuff, but if the zords are selling well enough to justify the Thunder Megazord then shouldn't we be getting a Dragonzord regardless of which demographic is primarily buying what? Say collectors might be buying up the zords more, ok so are we not allowed the Dragonzord simply because we aren't the targeted demographic? That would be like not releasing something popular in My Little Pony simply because it attracts more bronies than the actual target audience (and I don't mean in the weird way either).
