Act 45

Very back and forth, this one.

Which was not at all helped by the terrible sub quality. At this point I am absolutely convinced that Miss Dream did not have any sort of proofreader.

I also really didn't like how Amy is the one ultimately keeping Serena at arm's' length. After the entirety of the Dark Mercury arc and its ultimate lesson about togetherness, having Amy decide that keeping Serena secluded is for the best is not only stupid, but really out of character.

But on the plus side of things, this episode does follow up on the aspect I liked most about last episode, wherein it showcases just how important the mission of the Sailor Scouts really is.

As well, it has the really cool angle of the ice monster being continually upgraded over these past handful of episodes. It stands in a really great stark contrast to most of the monsters of this show, which were simply a means to a climax. And after seeing Kamen Rider Saber try to pull off a similar concept(but being way worse at it), I appreciated this on a meta level too.

But I think the thing most people will get out of this episode is that it finally gives us a one-on-one between Lita and Mina. And while I don't think it's the meatiest of the pair-up episodes, it was nice to finally see it happen, and via a rather natural angle too, given what both girls have been through. I just wish that Mina herself had been a stronger presence up to this point. But hey, atleast it's something, right?
