I watched Bravestorm (2017). Overall, it's a pretty good sci-fi action film, as long as you don't mind the unconvincing CGI and the very obvious green screen. Because of these two factors, at times it felt like I was watching either a cheap 3D anime or cast scenes from an early 2000s video game. Also, the creators clearly overestimate the appeal of shooting with a handheld camera. The practical effects are good, though. They have a strong 90s feel, but in my opinion, that's more of a plus. I also watched it dubbed, so maybe that's the translator's fault, but the slightly slapstick dialogue really livens up this rather banal and rushed story. The actors also did a very good job. And even though it's a remake-crossover of two old tokusatsu films, about which I know nothing but the title, I had no problem understanding the plot. And while I liked 2013's Gatchaman much better, Bravestorm is also perfectly adequate for an hour and a half of entertainment. Although the film, both in plot and visuals, is more reminiscent of a 2000s project.



P.S. And the fact that the alien invaders are called Kyrgyz made me laugh.
