Especially in light of the stellar showing Impact was given here, I'm still pretty hopeful they'll try to make a conscious effort to create action scenes that give more than just the absolute most recent toy a chance to shine. The introduction of the final form is generally the point where even the shows that do a good job with that stop caring, as the last 10 or so episodes revolve largely around fights with the big "general" type bad guys, but it'd be nice if ZEZTZ could break out of that pattern.

Even if that doesn't work out, though, the same way I like how they held off on using the Over Banish until now, I'm also kinda glad they didn't rush to introduce Orderm right after Catastrom showed up?

Three explicitly criticized Zero's hands-off non-handling of the whole Sieg situation a while back, so it can be assumed that's a factor in how he ended up ousted from his position here. I guess we'll see if the new management makes Dawn more of an active priority or not.

That's the kind of baseless hope that'll just curdle into greater disappointment as it starts to become an expectation instead. Rather than hope the show will change, which you can't control, you'd be better off hoping *you* can change how you see the show, which is something you do have a say in. It's good that you're not hunting for things to dislike, but if ZEZTZ was something you were into that much in the first place, maybe it's worth seeking out new things to like about it that you didn't before?

I'm sorry I don't know how to express any of this without coming off arrogant and/or pushy. (and/or overly dramatic!) Like, at the end of the day, it's just a show and all, but especially because it was only half a year ago you were the one telling *me* how much more you were seeing in it than I was, I feel compelled to continue pushing back where I can on this. At the very least, I can guarantee you I'm not saying any of this with no basis. You can literally go back and check those older threads and see how I went from only being satisfied with ZEZTZ when it did what I wanted, to trying to understand it for what it *is*, and eventually starting to see the beauty in the series on its own terms. And this is hardly the only toku show I've had that sort of experience with. Heck, way back in the day, I even made a whole thread about Gaim specifically to unpack how I went from loving it to resenting its later choices only to eventually make peace with the story it was telling.

I'm not saying you must, I'm not saying it's always easy, but if it means enough to you to try, please just know that avenue is always available to you.

I'm glad you finally got to see your Over Banish from this show! The preview for this one actually had the shot of the Driver crackling with electricity as he hits the lever, and specifically because we were just talking about the possibility only a bit ago, I spent a lot of the week thinking "oh, there's no way..." But there was a way! And it was pretty sick! Especially with the fun buildup of the regular Banish having all the sevens break to emphasize the difference in power. Probably going to go down as a more memorable use of a secondary finisher sound than that one token time Ghost used the Oomedama early on, huh?

As a decent enough fan of Agito, I was also mostly indifferent for pretty much exactly that reason. I mostly appreciated the scene for how well it works within the context of ZEZTZ? Even if you don't get the reference, it's still a funny scene that's in line with this show's overall sense of humor, and I like when the episodes don't forget to have that humor even amongst the drama going on.
