Representing different shows and ease of purchasing would factor into my decision. I could find it on certain websites for certain prices if I put a lot of effort and time into waiting for it, but factors such as wanting it now vs. hoping for finding something that is no longer in production changes whether it's a viable alternative. Plus, like I said, they are for different shows, so as a Power Ranger fan, the Tensouder would lose massive amounts of value. If I were strictly a Goseiger fan, a $10 Gosei Morpher would be next to worthless next to a $100 Tensouder, using the $100 as an example.

When looking at markets for certain items and whether or not one is clearly "better" than the other, the ability to quickly find something for a reasonable price makes a significant impact. There are various Japanese toy/hobby websites, but they don't always have Tensouders on them, let alone for prices near 3000 yen on a reliable basis. Comparing two items when the distribution of one is clearly severely lopsided seems to not be a real comparison.

If you're waiting for an item to be available at a certain price, it's not saturating the market, unless a collector's item such as the Tensouder's market is so drastically low.

I'd say there are a lot more factors going into these decisions.
