Yeah, I didn't think much of the vs. movie either. To be honest both "vs. Super Sentai" movies felt a bit of a let down. Hurricanger vs Gaoranger more than makes up for it though.
As for the villains, Tsuetsue and Yabaiba are great but the generals really bored me. I was never really fond of the "facial feature" trend they have design-wise either.

Glad you're enjoying it though! It does seem like an often forgotten series even though its an anniversary one.
