Of course he experienced a lot of things as a person, as a fighter he's been badass from start to end, plain regular badassery, that's what he does .

He rarely show feelings, sometimes it relies on flashbacks to give a glimpse of his life. What I mean is I can't connect more with his character at the end of season 2 than at the very start, because the way he acts (or the way the actor plays, but we can't know what were his directive on stage...)
