Not really. I think keeping as close to the Sentai as possible would bog it down the most.
We have the mystery of the Phantom Ranger, Rangers throughout the galaxy (At least 3 teams (Space, Galaxy, and Alien, along with Trey of Triforia), as well as the possibility of Masked Rider), the possible connection between Lost Galaxy and Wild Force, the Titanium Ranger, etc.

Gokaiger took advantage of it's past and was great.
Why should we just re-dub (Essentially, not literally) their anniversary series rather than take advantage of it and make it ours?
