Tokunation is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers all year long and is proud to present a comparison gallery of the original 1993 Power Morpher and the 2013
Legacy Edition
Power Morpher. While the Legacy Morpher is a must have for most fans on nostalgia alone, we hope this gallery can help those that are still undecided on whether to purchase it or not. Below is a run down of the features and details of each morpher.
1993 Version
:
- Weighs approximately 3 ounces (without coin)
- Front plates are made of plastic
- Coins are made of plastic and weigh approximately 0.1 ounce each
- Has screen inaccurate (from morphing sequence) decals on front plates
- Lacks molded or sticker detail on back
- Has 1 electronic sound effect
- Runs on 2 LR44 button cell batteries
2013 Version
:
- Weighs approximately 10 ounces (without coin)
- Front plates are made of die cast metal
- Has screen accurate (from morphing sequence) decals on front plates
- Coins are made of die cast metal and weigh approximately 1 ounce each
- Has molded, painted, and sticker detail on back
- Has an assortment of electronic sound effects
- Runs on 2 LR44 button cell batteries
A demonstration/comparison of the electronic lights and sounds of each morpher is demonstrated in the video below.
