If I wasn't aware of Figuarts,I'd possibly consider picking this up.Sadly,I can only have one and I prefer human proportions, multiple accessory variations and hands.
I just got mine today, it's actually less articulated than the Thundercats. They share the basic points of articulation but unlike the Thundercats 6" figures, this figure is probably 6.5" scale in actuality, and it does not have double jointed elbows/knees, instead it has single joints. Also the ankles do not tilt from side to side.
Most importantly, the figure feels more rubbery than a Thundercats figure, especially at the elbow joints.
Overall I like it but I am not a big fan of how the dragon shield connects, it's not very secure. Reminds me of the auto-morphing 5" Green Ranger from the 90's and how its shield always came off. Though this one is not as bad, the way it connects is similar.
I would have preferred a shield sculpted as 1 piece rather than 2 halves. I also wish the bicep rings were more secure, like if they could peg into place.
Not a bad figure but not as good as I was hoping for. For what you get, you do get a good bang for your buck. Good for those who want a very durable, fully articulated figure to pick up and handle with reckless abandon. You can give this to a kid but I doubt that the armor will stay on. I think the armor may actually work better on the Goseigers than on the MMPR Red Ranger.
If you want more articulation and a more screen-accurate sculpt, save up for the Figuarts.
