Access 01: Ore Sanjou! Mod Red is Born

Eeeeeep, beeep, beeep, beeep.




The buzzer could be heard, breaking through to the sleeping Reggie. Reggie lets out a deep yawn he reaches over towards the buzzer and slams the snooze button. A content smile on his face, he turns over to his side and bring the blankets closer to his body. “Reggie sweetie! Breakfast!” An older, female voice calls to him, barely heard through Reggie’s shut door. Reggie lets out a groan, another yawn and he was out of bed. He rubs the sleep out of his eyes and looks towards his computer monitor, which displayed a pretty awesome screen saver of the Gokaigers changing into Kamen Rider OOOs scene from Super Hero Taisen.

Reggie eyes his monitor suspiciously for a moment, and for a brief second he saw image of his monitor, flashing a bright light in his mind. He shook his head back and fourth. “Must still be dreaming” He says with a yawn finally deciding to get up.

He went through his usual morning routine, shower, brush teeth, and then downstairs for a quick breakfast of bacon and toast, and then back upstairs to check his usual internet geek hangouts and e-mails.

First Tokunation.com. And after a few minutes of trying, the page instantly goes to a “Cannot connect, page not found” screen. Reggie raises an eyebrow “Page not found?What the?” he tries to refresh but is met with the same results. Annoyed, Reggie closes the page. “Must be doing maintenance...whatever” Reggie says. Grabbing a backpack, Reggie heads back downstairs shouting “I’m heading out mom!” His mom shouts back “Be careful honey!” and out the door he went.

Meanwhile, in the depths of cyberspace in an almost Matrixy-sort of environment...bits of data begin to clump together and form a barren wasteland environment. There, a familiar agonized howl could be heard. VI1Z appears within the landscape, ! Now with a body, He looks towards a cliff of the newly form domain, and raises a hand. His hand begins to glow, and bits of data once again clumps up. A bright flash of light later, and they form a mechanical looking building which resembles one of Dr.Willy’s castles from a Megaman game. Breaking up into bits of Data, VI1Z materializes himself within the fortress walls.

He arrives at the command centre, and with a wave of his hand the computer monitors and lights come alive. “ARise...MY...CHILDREEEEEEN!” With another raise of his hand, bits of data begin to gather, and eventually form two computer programs, one male one female.

The female one stretches as does the male one. “agro leet, fired up and ready to PWN some noobs!” Agro says, pounding his chest.

The female one lets out a yawn “Hax here, That was a nice nap!” Both turn their attention to VI1Z. “What’s on the agenda today, boss?” VI1Z stares at his new creations taking in a deep breath he says “DEStroy...ALLL.....HUUUUUMANS!” He says. Both programs cheer at the words and Hax turns to the computer monitor in front of her. “And I have just the thing to do it with!” She says. The computer monitor shows the back room of a toy store reaching for the head band on her head, Hax flips them down revealing them to be a high tech visor, resembling the one worn by Marvel’s Cyclops.

“Phase 1...scan object” She says, an image of the RF Scanner appears in her wrist-mounted device. “Phase 2...inject a little virus...” She says Another beam of light shines through, and the monster Scanneroid is formed. “Phase 4: viola! Preeesenting, Scanneroid! He’ll be able to give us all the data we need on humans and how best to smash them!” Hax says hitting her fist into her open palm.

VI1Z nods, raising his hand once more robotic foot soldiers with no faces appeared before him “GO....DESTROY...!” He says “IT WILL BE MY PLEASURE!” Scannerroid says, disappearing into bits of data, the disassembled bits would travel into the monitor.

Anime Junction, a popular store in California’s trendy downtown shopping district. Owned by Jordan, or as he’s known on the internet “Den-O”. Anime Junction is known for having fair prices, comparable to most online shops and friendly service. Jordan was in in high spirits, the delivery man just dropped off a huge shipment he recently ordered from Japan, containing both newly released items and rare toys.


Reggie visits Anime Junction at least once a week. Reggie comes into the store, it was busy like it usually is. At the far corner of the room, Den-O had a small library of manga set up. Kyle “DaiRiderRX”, a young man in his 20 something. He sat there wearing a black Luka T-Shirt, and a chibi-fied plush of the same character sitting between his knees. In his hand he had a Vocaloid manga that belonged to Den-O’s with of course, Luka on the cover. “Ooooh Luka....how I heart you…” Kyle says to himself in a dreamy voice.

In another corner of the room, tables were set up where people played various collectable card games, and Den-O just happened to be running a promotion on the new Power Rangers Action Card Game. One person that stood out amongst the crowd was Nathan “Sentai” He wore a blue T-Shirt with the gold Goseiger team logo embossed on the front.

His deck is a Power Rangers Megaforce deck which seemed to heavily focus on Megaforce Yellow, and Sentai just won the game “YESSSS! In yer face, Gosei hater! What do you gotta say about Goseiger now?!” Matt shouts he begins to do a little dance, all the while signing “Go Moune, Go Moune, uh huh...it’s your birthday! It’s your birthday!”

Matt “ZeoRangerV” is at the counter paying for his purchase: a Super Robot Chogokin Gurren Lagann with the Drill set. He watches the cashier putting his new toy into a plastic bag and gets ready to leave, just as he picks up his bag he notices Sentai causing a scene and rolls his eyes [COLOR="rgb(0, 100, 0)"]“Idiots, I swear…” [/COLOR]He mutters to himself before stepping out of the shop, missing Reggie completely as he does so.

Like a gentleman, Reggie moves out of the way to allow Matt to leave first. He then pushes the door open just as it’s about to close. Folding the head phones to his iPod up, Reggie first basks in the glory that is Den-O’s display cabinet.

Jordan comes out of the of the warehouse carrying an armload of toy boxes in his hand. “Hey Reggie my man!” Jordon calls out placing the boxes down on the glass counter containing card game singles. “Jordon!” Reggie walks up to the counter, and the two do the Fourze friendship handshake. His hand then points toward the pile of boxes. “New figures for the month came in?” Reggie asks. Jordan smiles and nods “Yeah man! Just arrived this morning...come on back and I’ll show you the good stuff” Jordan says. Reggie nods and follows him into the store room.

Inside the store room, Reggie’s eyes widened, his jaws hit the floor at the sight of something truly retro. “Is that what I think it is?” Reggie asks. Jordan nods. “Yeah man, the DX Fiverobo...mint in box, look! The tape hasn’t even been cut yet!” He says. “But that’s not all” He says.

Jordan Reaches into a box and pulls out some more classic Sentai and Kamen Rider Treasures, the last piece he pulls out being the Goranger’s Variblune toy still in the box, looking like it came right out of the factory.

Reggie still gasped blinks twice “Dude, where did you find most of this stuff?!” He asks “Got lucky, friend of mine went to Japan recently and found a shop ran by an nice old couple that didn’t didn’t know what they had.” He says. Reggie points back to the Five Robo shown earlier “How much, how much, how much, how much?!” He asks “It ain’t cheap....” Jordan says he reaches for an RF Gun he kept on a pile of boxes and blinked “Hey where did my RF Gun go?” He says. Suddenly the two hears a loud scream coming from the outside. The two look at each other before running back out.

Outside, a group of Spam Bots began to wreck the store. They came out just as a Spam Bot smashes the glass cabinet containing the CCG display. “What in the name of Primus is going on here?!” Jordan cries Shelves were kicked over, and the table Sentai was playing at flipped. “Hey! Get off!” Sentai shouts watching the Spam Bots step all over the cards. He attempts to push the spam bot off, but the Spam Bot retaliates, he picks up Sentai and throws him to the wall.

One spam bot snatches the Luka plush out of DaiRiderRX’s hand, he rips the head off before throwing the two halves on the ground and stomping on them. DaiRiderRX Falls to his knees ‘MY LUKA DOOOOOOOLLLLLL!!!!!!” DaiRiderRX cries out in pained agony.

Scannerroid watched his Spambots wreck the shop laughing as he did so. Jordan walks up to the monster and says “Hey! I don’t know what freak show you came from but I suggest you take your buddies and leave! I just phoned the police and they’re on they’re way!” Scannerroid turns to Jordan and laughs “COPS?! YOU THINK I’M SCARED OF THE POPOS?! HA!” The Scannerroid picks Jordan up and tosses him behind the counter, Jordan hits the floor with a grunt.

A beam of red light flashes from the sensor bar on Scannerroid’s head. In an instant, Den-O’s store becomes barren except for a few un desired items. What was left had new prices on them reading in up to the thousands. “SPAMBOTS COME, HERE’S A WHOLE CITY FOR US TO TORMENT!” Scannerroid says vanishing into bits of data.

A concerned Reggie quickly rushes to his friend’s side, he helps him up being mindful of the glass. “Jordan man! You okay?” He asks “Yeah...good thing this place is insured...” He says staggering a bit as he got up.

Nathan approaches the smashed counter, his expression was one that just screamed rage and anger. “Jordan man! It’s starting...what Tony warned us about is really happening!” Jordan nodded twice. “I know...” He says “What’s starting!?! What’s going on here guys?! Those goons that attacked...they looked like something out of a Sentai show!” Reggie says. “Reggie, man...for your own safety, forget what you saw here and go home...” Jordan says “But...” “I said go home!” Jordan shouts. Reluctantly, Reggie nods. “Are we going man, or what?!” Nathan says. 

 “We’re going! You guys head on without me...I Gotta get the ‘thing’” you guys go on ahead Jordan says as he quickly runs into the back room.

Nathan turns to the corner of the room, he sees Kyle holding his beloved Luka plush in his arms, crying and in the fetal position. He desperately tries to put the head together with the body all the while repeatedly muttering “Don’t worry...Daddy will make you all better...Daddy will fix you right up...” He says. Nathan sighs and shouts “Yo! Kyle! I’ll help you get a new one later so pull yourself together man, c’mon! It’s show time!” Nathan says.

Kyle looks towards Nathan, legs shaking he gets up and rubs his nose “I’ll...” He swallows wiping away his tears. “I’m gonna make those bastards pay for hurting my Luka!!!” He says charging out the front door while shouting “aaaaaahhhhh!!!!!”. Nathan smiles “That’s the spirit man!” Nathan says running after him. “Wait! Guys!”

Moments later Jordan came out of the room holding an odd looking belt and pass in his hand. Reggie was left alone in the ruined shop. His curiosity was getting the better of him. Walking around the counter and into the store room, Reggie could see some boxes were moved out of the way revealing a hidden compartment. Cautiously he approaches the compartment and there he saw some kind of high tech storage device, the device looked like it came right out of a scifi movie. Reggie approaches the device and leans in for a closer look. There was a wall mount, there he sees two belts empty belts which look like card scanners. Beside them were cards with the a green curvy T written on them, the wall mount had three empty spots, Reggie looks on at the belts in a gasp.

*Insert internal eye catch here*

Across town, Scannerroid and his legion of Spambots are wrecking havoc. A crowd of people run past Nathan, and Kyle but those left behind get hassled by a troop of Spambots. Scannerroid laughs triumphantly “YES, YES, MORE! MAKE THE HUMANS SUFFER!” He says, he begins using his scan beam to absorb random objects throughout the district.

A Spambot is about to hit a defenseless civilian with his staff before a laser blast stops him. Both the Spambot and Civilian turns towards Nathan and Kyle stunned. The civilian uses this chance to escape.

Jordan arrives on the scene shortly after “What took you so long?” Nathan asks. Jordan smiles “Traffic is murder because of these dudes.” He says. The three of them turn their attention towards the monster. “OH YOU GUYS AGAIN! CAME BACK FOR ANOTHER SMACK DOWN?!” He shouts. “You’re the only one that’s about to get smacked down!” Jordan says strapping on his Mod Belt. Nathan and Kyle both follow suit with their belts. “Ready guys? Let’s Do this Shit!” Jordan cries the two of them nod and all together they shout:

“MOD ACCESS, LOG IN!”
The team strikes a pose, and then inserts their respective cards into their belts. A female computerized voice would respond with: 


“Red, access granted downloading...” 



“Blue, access granted downloading...”


“Black, access granted downloading...”


Bits of data in the Mod’s respective coulour would form around them, particles collect around their body and a white suit begins forming around that. 

“LIKE I’D LET YOU DO THAT, GOON SQUAD! FIRE!” Scannroid shouts, he and the Spammerbots fires at the trio, at first the shots seem to hit their targets, causing a five story tall wall of fire. Scannroid scoffs at the sight as he lowers his weapon but was instantly hit with with return fire which came out of the wall of of fire.

The flames died down revealing the three Mod rangers, each armed with the Mod Blaster side arm. “WHAT?!” Scannerroid says.

“Ore...Sanjou! Mod Red!” Jordan cries striking Den-O’s signature pose.

“Spiky Courage! Shield of Tokunation! ModBlue!” Nathan cries, He start’s off with Gosei Red’s roll call pose before striking Gosei Yellow’s signature pose roll call pose.

“I am the one who will protect the Pink-haired goddess! ModBlack!” Kyle cries, hugging the part of his armor which resembles Luka and rocking his body back and fourth before striking Ichigo Rider’s signature pose.

All together, the three of them shout: “Banning scum and villainy off the face of the Tokunation!! Tokunation Sentai...” The three strike another pose. “MODRANGER!” A large explosion is seen behind them.

Kyle and Nathan charges towards the enemy group “Hey, wait! I didn’t say attack yet!”Jordan cries but to no avail.


“GET THEM!” Scannerroid shouts, the Spambots charging towards them.
Mod Red’s Mod Caliber appears in his hand, “ModCalibur! Ikuze, Ikuze, Ikuze!!!!” Jordan cries charging after them.

ModBlue would charge towards his group of Spammerbots. The Spammerbots lines up to take a shot at ModBlue, they open fire, ModBlue cries out “ModClawShield!” a medium sized shield covered in spikes appears in his arms. He blocks the shots with the shield before slamming it into the first Spammerbot he comes in contact with. Keeping that one pinned with his foot and with his Shield in hand he backhands the one behind him before throwing it like a boomerang.

The spinning spiky shield of death strikes four Spammerbots sending them flying catching the shield, ModBlue then uses it to behead the Spammerbot. Getting off the robot body, ModBlue kicks the now lifeless body. “That’s what you get for wrecking my cards!!!” He says


“ModPistol!” ModBlack cries, a Luka themed MoeMoe ZCune-like weapon materializes in his hand “IKUZE!” A Luka-like voice would shout from the weapon. “Mod Blaster!” ModBlack cries reaching for the side arm attached to his left hilt. He cries out “Uaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!” as he begins to fire like a madman. The first set of Spamerbots drop like flies but another wave takes their place. They take aim at Modblack and open fire. ModBlack leaps into the air and with both weapons in hand, he begins to spin and fire on the SpammerBots below him “Moon Galaxy Shot!!!” He shouts replicating DekaRed’s signature attack.

He lands behind the Spambots just as they explode. He gets up and turns around “That one was for my doll! No body hurts my Princess!” He says. Turning the MML-Cune back into a doll, ModBlack hugs the doll saying “Daddy made the badmen go away...don’t worry shhh stop crying it’s alright now...”

Meanwhile Modred charges towards his set of enemies, with his Mod Blaster in hand, he fires at the SpammerBots blocking his bath towards ScannerRoid. ScannerRoid opens fire on ModRed but Mod Red dives downward and avoids the attack, with his Sword he makes three strikes: one upward left, and another straight down. The monster staggers for a moment “You picked the wrong store to mess with pal!” Mod Red says. He brings his sword down for another strike, but the monster Blocks the attack causing Mod Red to shout “What?!”. The monster then slams Mod Red with a punch to the gut, before hitting him with an uppercut.

Sparks fly off of Mod Red’s armor as he’s knocked back several feet. Staggering to get up, Scannroid scuffs at the fallen Ranger and prepares to deliver the final blow. That is until blue and purple lasers are fired at the Monster causing him to stop his attack. “Wow...you really showed him” ModBlue says in a sarcastic tone, he offers hand to ModRed. Red knocks the hand away and says “Stuff it Blue! Let’s just finish this guy off!” 

The three takes out their Mod Blasters and inserts their Mod Passes into the gun. The Gun comes alive, each one saying “Login accepted, charging...!” The guns begin to charge energy and each ModRanger as the gun finishes charging, the computerized voice says: “Firing laser...3...2...1!” Each of the Modrangers presses the trigger. And shout “Go!”


Three balls of energy leaves the nozzle of the gun, each one in the color of their respective Ranger. They come together to form a massive ball of energy which makes it’s way towards the Monster. Defenseless the monster could only cry and cower as the ball heads towards him.

Agro Leet suddenly arrives on the scene. With his sword he deflects the energy wave back towards the Rangers. The rangers are then hit with their own attack, crying out they are sent flying back and on their knees. ScannerRoid looks up to see Agro in front of him and says “THANKS FOR THE SAVE BOSS!” He says. Agro turns back to the monster and gives him a glare he says “u had trouble w/ these loserz? srsly?! wtf man u makin’ me look bad!” He says. “just finish these noobs off...laterz!” Agro says returning to Cyberspace. Scannerroid turns towards the helpless heroes and chuckles. He approaches them slowly and kicks Den-O over, holding him down with his foot. He raises his closed fist about to deal the finishing blow...

That is until white lasers are shot at the monster causing him to stop. The monster staggers off of Den-O. Stunned the three heroes turn to face their savior: a man wearing the Mod Ranger Blank Suit, a plain white suit with a helmet, visor, and purple lines down the chest and legs. Armed with the User-Blaster and User-Sword, the stranger kicks the monster shouting “Get away from them!!” And brings his sword upward. The attack makes it’s mark but seems to have little effect on the monster. “GO AWAY YOU PEST!” Scannerroid says slamming his fist into him.

The stranger flies back with an “Arrrgh!” He rolls on the ground, and the armor vanishes revealing himself to be... “Reggie!” ModRed cries. He quickly gets back to his feet “ModCaliber!” He cries. He dashes at the monster, inserting the ModPass into the sword, the computerized voice would respond with “Login Accepted, charging!” the sword comes alive as sparks begin to fly, the sword is then covered with energy. “Ore wa Hisatsu waza!”

ScannerRoid looks up at ModRed just as he’s about to bring the sword down he lets out an “EEEEEEK!!”. ModRed Slashes downward shouts “Parto One!” He brings the blade up again and slashes in a cross pattern he turns around as the monster falls back, exploding behind him. With a sigh of relieve, the ModCaliber vanishes and he approaches Reggie.

Reggie meanwhile is staggering to get on his feet. He asses the damage done to his body: no broken bones but the right corner of his forehead and lip are bleeding. He looks up towards ModRed, seeing his reflection starring back at him in his visor. Speechless for a moment, Reggie points a finger towards him “Y...you’re!” ModRed lets out another sigh he removes his Mod Belt and the armor vanishes


“What the hell man?! I thought I told you to go home!” Jordan shouts. Reggie looks down from him like a child being scolded. “I...I just couldn’t leave you guys I’m sorry! I thought...I had to do something...anything! Then I found this in the back room...” He says showing him the Mod Pass and Belt. Blinking, Jordan slaps his forehead “Crap! I Forgot to close up the hidden compartment before leaving!” He says Kyle and Nathan both removes their Mod Belts, Nathan rolls his eyes “Nice going there fearless leader, way to keep a secret identity. Why don’t you show him the Batcave while you’re at it?!” Nathan says, Kyle nods in agreement. “Shut it you!” a frustrated Jordan shouts He lets out a sigh. “We just might have too now...” He turns back towards Reggie. “Reg, like it or not...you became part of this the moment you decided to put on that belt...follow me and I’ll explain everything...from the beginning” He says. Reggie gripped the Mod pass and nodded. Overhead police sirens could be heard. “Crap, cops! We gotta go, now!” Jordan says, and the group quickly leaves the scene.

Unknown to the group, a stunned conundrum saw everything, his camera managing to record the whole fight….
