I remember learning about Kikaider back in the old Kaiju Review fanzine in the 90s. When the anime came on Cartoon Network, I floored all my anime otaku friends by telling them it was a tokusatsu several decades earlier.

A modern tokusatsu Kikaider show would be a real blast -- the scenario in a lot of ways reminisicent of the old school Kamen Riders (with the hero being the same sort of creation as his foes), and there is a lot of room for both action and character in the story of an android like Kikaider.
