Not the same for me.
It was always "Which medal is Eiji going to randomly drop today? =\" Every time I saw it.
The Greeed were pitiful villains. Cazali was the only one to ever do anything beyond the "Send monster, watch it die, onore", Mezulu and Gamel didn't do much but stand there and react to Cazali and Maki, and Uva looked cool, but was rarely relevant.
Just seeing the Horoscopes take enough interest in their monsters to actively train and protect them makes them far more interesting to me than the Greeed, though I will admit that the Greeed did have more personality, thus their group scenes were interesting to watch.
