My problem with John Hurt being the 12th is that how would the 11th know? Unless he did peek into the future when he dove into his time... scar... thing. I've already seen people guessing he's the Valeyard... which I looked up since I didn't know who that was at all. But yeah, evil spawn of the Doctor. It could maybe work?

Then I remembered they specifically said "John Hurt as THE DOCTOR." Despite Matt Smith just having said he wasn't known as that. Which is more confusing. So yeah.
