I don't know that there's much swearing - I'm not familiar enough with the Japanese language, or dialect, to know if the swearing I see on the subtitled episodes is actually what was meant. Kind of like "bullcrap" and "bullshit" are the same thing, but in English, one is considered a swear-word and the other isn't.

But if anyone is seriously using the excuse of "death" and "swearing" as a reason why a show is better than another then I feel bad for those that really base their decision on liking a show or not on that. I admit, having "death" in RPM really made me enjoy it - not because it was ZOMG DEATH but because for the STORY it really drove home the fact that THIS IS THE END OF THE WORLD, and that these deaths really shaped the characters of Scott and Summer.

At the end of the day it's all meant to sell merchandise, whether it's on this side of the pond or not. I just like colored spandex.
