It's the reasoning behind it.

The guy from MMPR wants to get in to the film business and popularity is the easiest way, so he chose a series that had a lot of adult fans in hopes of a quick rise to fame. He's going out and grabbing talent that have worked on Power Rangers in hopes that it'll bring even more popularity to his work (ie: Robert Axelrod, David Fielding, Ron Wasserman).

Matt Austin and his cast loved their time together and always wanted to get back together. Not being invited for Super Megaforce seemed to have brought them back together again, and he wants to do a 22 minute "fan-film" continuation of SPD using the actual cast FOR the fans. Totally non-profit, for the fans of the SPD series.

You tell me what the difference is.
