If I recall, what Tendou did wasn't to stop the meteor from crashing, but to push the second meteor into the first one. The first meteor being much larger, thus setting up God Speed Love, by causing the whole water shortage post apocalypse thing. By pushing the second meteor through time into the first one, he made the first meteor smaller, simply causing the worms to arrive. It's still confusing, but it's not some sort of time paradox thing (Or it might be and I'm just too tired to realize it )
