That said, I'm really not that hot on the characters. I find both Bridge and Syd very unconvincing as two trained officers, I mean I know they've proven themselves in unmorphed fights and don't judge a book etc etc but idk, they just don't click for me.
Z has nothing to her aside from forced sass and an accent that drops and comes back again whenever she can be bothered to act. And Jack so far is possibly the worst Red ever, as he is a completely unlikeable douchebag.
Ironically I think I actually like Sky the most, I know he is unlikable but at least it is on purpose with his character and at least he actually convinces as an officer, even if he is a bit childish at times.
The show also, in places, feels incredibly dumbed down and censored, even for Power Rangers.
I like to think of Bridge as the S.P.D. version of Alan Alda's 'Hawkeye Pierce' character from M*A*S*H. Both break the mold of the stereotypical 'super serious hard ass' type so often found in their respective series', replacing it with a bit of eccentricity/comic relief that can still be reined in/turned off when the moment calls for it.
I've got no defense for the others though.
