Haruto is dull as dirt and is incapable of facial expresson. Nothing about him is unique, memorable, or again, done any better than any other rider. He's serious and convicted? Uh, so is literally every single Kamen Rider ever. He's not atrocious, but he's easily the blandest. And really, overall there's nothing to the show. Den-O is chock full of amazing characters and W has probably one of the best main Riders ever and an awesome backstory to the show itself and you say "plain sugar" is better? (granted you JUST started Den-O and you literally stopped RIGHT BEFORE they started the world building in W so I can't blame you for anything more than calling it too early)

I really enjoy Haruto but honestly he is about the only thing I enjoy now I'm caught up on the series but I did enjoy the early episodes a lot when I was watching a handful of episodes a day, it just has lots of life and energy and is just so much fun. But now we're coming to the end of the series it needs to be more than 'just fun' as it has a story to tell and a show to wrap up.

I still stand by the fact that Haruto is a deep and layered character who feels flat in comparison to a genre dominated by heroes who scream and shout until people confuse that for substance.

To me what makes a bland Rider is one who is unanimously good, perfect and flawless which is what put me off of Kabuto and what started to turn me off of Gen as episodes rolled on. But what I love about Haruto is he is able to be flawed, without being useless and is able to be a hero without the whole world swooning at his feet as he is perfect at everything he touches. He just seems to find a balance between Toku hero extremes and I like the balance he finds.
