I'd say this is where we agree to disagree, but no way, Charlie Day was awesome. He brought energy to the role and made the character more than just a stereotypical nerd. They needed someone like Charlie Day or else the dynamic between him and his stuffy counterpart wouldn't have worked.

While I'm sure there's other people who could have done it, that's not to say they didn't work. Ron Perlman, I mean he just made the character memorable. If they just got some dude to play that he would've been forgettable. You need people who can take a character and elevate it, that's why they cast certain actors and not just whoever shows up first.
