To give this show credit, where credit is due, I do like that they go out of their way to explain things that other shows just shrug off. This show has great writing and excellent world building, it's a cool story, just not a very well executed one when it comes to basically...anything outside of the script.

I've yet to find any character I particularly enjoy or a character that really stands out - our protagonist is naive, immature and largely useless, the commander is a total bitch and pretty much everyone else is just...there. I will say Faust makes for a cool villain.

Plus the fight scenes and special effects are just bad. What is it with early 2000s toku and clunky action scenes? We can laugh at the cardboard buildings and polystyrene walls now, but shows like Kamen Rider Black or sentai from the late 80s, early 90s have spectacular action sequences, whenever Nexus fights I'm reminded of a boxer in his last few rounds of the match, after he'd already taken a large hit to the face. The action was a little better in episode nine, but that is only because Faust is a badass and he was kicking Nexus' boring ass around the screen.
