Hey guys, after watching nearly 3 series of Rider (OOO, finishing up Kuuga and waiting for Wizard to end) I've wanted to get into anime since it seems pretty diverse and interesting. Plus, its a hell of a lot easier to find someone in real life who likes Anime and talk about it then someone who likes Kamen Rider or Super Sentai.

Even though I have watched a bit of anime and read a bit of manga, I think this thread should be my first big dive into both.

I've seen parts of all the Yugioh series, High School of the dead DBZ up to King Cold, a sliver Bakugan, an episode or two of the Sonic and Pokemon series.

I've read the beginning of Psyren, the part of the Yugioh manga that became "season 0", most of the GX manga, DBZ up to King cold, Bakuman, and the beginning of Ultimo.

I'll give some genres I'm interested in and you guys can help me out. After seeing Pacific Rim, I want to see a couple of mech series, mainly Gundam after Max Scoville's Study hall video on it. Any series similar to Kamen Rider or Super Sentai with superheroes or super powered people in it. Mainly I want action series and I want to know what certain terms mean like Shonen (although I think it means any long running action series like Naruto or DBZ)

Thanks for the input guys, I know this could be in the "What anime are you watching thread" but I would think that is mostly for existing big fans of anime.
