It's because it was something completely new. As a teenager in the 90s, it was the greatest era for cartoons and the like. The 80s were all toy commercial gimmicks, whereas the 90s combined that with story telling and new ideas. We had Batman The Animated Series, which was the first time they had actually given Batman a proper adaptation, and it had the use of negative effect for the animation. We got Power Rangers, which was the first time anyone had turned a live action Japanese series into an American show. Plus, it had giant robots and super heroes fighting monsters in a unique fashion. I fell in love with the show the moment I saw the very first commercial for it. We also had Gargoyles, which told deep mature stories and also used it to cleverly teach kids about things like gun safety. And of course we had Animaniacs, the prime of The Simpsons, and Superman The Animated Series.

Anyway, like I said, it was more because it was something completely unique and blew me away. Even my dad would watch it with me because he enjoyed it (same goes for Gargoyles and Batman). Sure, these days it is cheesy, but there is still something to be enjoyed there even when you take off the nostalgia goggles.

Trickster Treat is that one taken from the Returns special, right? I can pass on that. And I'll definitely pass on watching clip shows. Guess it is just the 20 episodes Netflix has listed for me then. Oh, and I decided there is no point in my watching the Red Rangers movie since I know next to nothing about the RPM characters.
