I could bore you for hours with what influences Company A to go ahead and make Figure A over Figure B, and exactly how much power Retailer A and Retailer B have in the whole decision making process.

It's quite boring unless you love hearing about how a toy TRULY goes concept design to retail shelf.

NOTE: At all the toy panels over the years, designers always leave out really key reasons WHY they decided to make this toy over that toy. It all starts, believe it or not, on previous data from product testing (with kids) as well as retailer feedback. At least, in the USA side.

Bandai Japan, on the other hand, is a different beast entirely.
