Capcom makes the incredibly wise decision of not turning Mega Man into the next Sonic, and all they're met with is anger and cries of "They hate the fans."
When 9 and 10 are decried as trying to capture the glory days of the classics, when Starforce is decried as dickriding off Battle Network's popularity, when fans act angry over the cancellation of a generic FPS (That would've been completely decimated on a critical level as being a generic, "Darker and edgier" remake) just because it bore the "Mega Man" name, it's getting ridiculous.

Capcom gives the fans what they want, that being Classic Mega Man, and they get torn apart for not being innovative or creative, and just rehashing what worked two decades ago.

Capcom gives the fans what they want, that being Mega Man in a crossover fighter. In what's clearly just a joke fighter, they get torn apart because it's not X or Rock.

Capcom has made bad decisions, but ultimately ending the Mega Man franchise was not one of them.
