Most certainly, but they aren't even in the background any more. What happened to the one Hajime was keeping as a pet? If they simply wanted a means to introduce the Gatchaman it wouldn't it have been easier to have them fight random aliens rather than this race that's suddenly come and gone with no real reason?

I dunno, I just don't think "there haven't been any more incidents since" is good enough closure on the matter
