Didn't the Gatchaman have a mean of transporting aliens? I think all the Mess were sent away from earth by them in the early episodes, including the pet one.

I've been enjoying it so far, the main dfference from the first episodes to now, is that Rui pretty much became the main character, as his actions are the ones moving the story forward.
