You can kinda already see how his powers are "corrupting" him. In the first episode Kouta is introduced as a person who is trying to be responsible and help everyone as demonstrated in the scene with the little kid.
After he got his powers he slowly starts to get away from that. Now the only thing he wants to do is winning in the Invess games and show off his new awesome powers.
Thats what I think the scene with his sister in episode 3 tried to show us (even though it was very vague and poorly executed). Eventhough he has this great power and can benefit from it the only one he is helping with it is himself. Something in the vein of the classic "with great power comes great responsibility" line from Spider-Man.
