Let's face it, Figuarts Gai the weakest entry in the Ryuki line. He has the fewest accessories, and has the most ridiculous aftermarket value, and if you don't already have him, you're better off skipping him.
But, he's a beautiful figure (yes, I have said this about every figure in the line, and I will continue to do so), and if you're a crazy person like me, I mean, a completist like me, then you need him.
Gai's armor is very much meant to invoke a knight in armor of old, it's sculpted with many overlapping plates, and the silver and gunmetal gray metallic paint finish off that look. He's sorta bland by himself, in a monochromatic way, but on a shelf with the other, many colored, Ryuki Figuarts, he stands out in his own way.
As for accessories, Gai has a lot of hands, and his Strike Vent. And that's it. Granted, he didn't use anything else in the show, but that he doesn't even include a Tamashii stage to soften the blow of his high price, or effect parts or anything. The value is just not there with this guy.
I do like the design, especially the red horn on his left shoulder, and of course the execution of the figure itself is good, but the extreme rarity of the figure, the severe lack of accessories to lessen the impact of the high price on the secondary market make Figuarts Kamen Rider Gai and extremely skippable figure. Even at the relatively low price I paid for him ($85), I don't recommend him to anyone but hardcore Ryuki fans, or completists.
