Maybe kind of like charity out of guilt, vs charity out of generosity? That's the best I can think.

If that's what it is supposed to mean that makes the episode a whole hell of a lot better. I also would like to add to my own statement that I think Kaitou's definition of power actually makes sense and using the Invess is just him using his power.
