Well, the Super Megaforce powers are supposedly an upgraded form of the Megaforce powers. Civilian to Megaforce, Megaforce to Super Megaforce, and then Super Megaforce to past team of Power Rangers.

But I will admit, your idea sounds a lot better than what Saban has in mind.

Vrak's not being written out...at least I don't think so. If they're keeping him around for Super Megaforce, then it would make sense for him to hide, what with him being a cyborg and all.

I still think that, given what happened at the end of this episode, we'll see Robo Knight get captured by Prince Vekar and then become X-Borg/Barizorg. Then again, this IS Saban we're talking about, so some good ideas like the one I just brought up will get thrown under the bus.
