Here's my thought process on the matter if you want to go all FanFicy and try to connect the dots.

We can link MMPR through PROO. We can link PRJF to RPM.

That being said, MMPR through PROO is "main universe", while PRJF and RPM are together in "alternate universe".

Now you can go with an on-screen explanation and state that DaiShi being freed is what caused the "alternate universe" storyline. Simpilist explanation I can think of. If you want to go off-screen and FanFicy, you connect the dots between "General Venjix" from PRWF Forever Red and Venjix of RPM. Both were machines, both wanted to take over the world. Not hard to say NASADA was able to get the remains of General Venjix, try to create a sentient computer with it, and had it backfire when it took control and started taking over the world. That of course all happened in "Alphabet Soup" which we saw with RPM.

Really those are the only two explanations I can think of. Either DaiShi or Dr. K not being able to install the firewall for Venjix as the turning points. I like the DaiShi explanation because without DaiShi, there's no Jungle Fury Rangers, whom are never mentioned in RPM.

The question now is ... is Samurai it's own universe as well?
