I wrote this poem about Spider-Man. I think I missed the point I was trying to get across.

Doctor Flow’s Tribute To A Fallen Hero

June 5th, 1962:
The world mocked for the first time a timid teenager;
The world marveled for the first time the awesome might of a spectacular man.
All with the flip of a page
In an amazing fantasy.

Was the age when I considered that humans
Didn’t have to be bound by human limits.

Skittering about your hand.

Fangs
Plunging into your flesh.
Red and blue,
Swinging across a
Silver-screen, spinning silk from spinnerets supplanted
In an anatomically incorrect location,
The wrists.
Crawling up and down,
Left and right,
On brick and plaster.
Danger could never catch up to you,
Spectacled science-geek.
But tragedy dogged you.
Wealth, fame,
Rocketed up your head;
One mistake,
And uncle dead.
One mistake,
Someone dead.
Trend: set.
Begin.

An octopus crawled
Into a spider’s brain
With a gold sphere.
Broken,
He left you to waste away in his
Diseased and dying body.

No assembly pursued.
One mistake.
You search,
Sifting through tentacled memories.
Sinister sigma
Escape.
Death chases.

700,
The octopus
Sorts out your life.
You fight
One final time.
Flashes of time,
Flurries of fists,
A leap from Stark Avenging.
One final time.
And you fail.

December 26, 2012,
An amazing arachnid,
A marvelous man,
Died in New York.
My childhood followed.
