Hey guys,

Recently got into minipla (had seen it before, but was unaware of the awesomeness it contained). Inspired by folks like kun2522, I ordered my first kit (bragigas) and set to work.

I'm fairly used to these types of kits having done the pokemon ones, but since I planned to paint these, it was still new territory. Easing into things, I built the first one and used stickers on it for the most part. I used matte clear coat, and didn't like the results:


The matte clear coat dulled the paint, and, probably because it was left to dry in a cold area, caused the stickers to peel up.

Here's some pics of some of the parts painted and then matte-coated (stickers on the body)





Here's the first guy half painted, half stickered. I ended up liking the front legs which were painted and gloss coated, so I reused those in my second kit.



Decided going forward I would do all paint, here's the stickered head vs painted:

In the end, not great, but I'm satisfied for my first outing.

Just bought Bunpachy from a member here so he'll be my next project. Hopefully I can take what I've learned here and make him better.
