Special Access: Tokunation Sentai ModRanger VS Anonymous Sentai Guestman Part 1

Things had become rather dull around the CPU HQ. Both the Anon Army and OnoRed’s forces have been uncharacteristically silent. Tony was away on a business trip in Asia, which meant all projects that required his approval were on hold until he came back. School was done for Reggie and Matt. Matt found himself a part time job; working in the same retail store Kyle worked at, while Reggie lent his services to Jordan’s store.

It was the middle of summer vacation, and California was caught in a record breaking heatwave, and the almost unbearable heat made business slow for Anime Junction. Reggie sat on the futon that Jordan had set up for the manga library rather lazily. He had his feet and free hand soaking in buckets of water while his right hand was busy fanning him. In front of them, he had three fans going at high speeds but even that failed to stop Reggie from sweating bullets. “Maaaaaaaan” Reggie says “It’s hooooooot....” Jordan walks over and replies: “Yeah well I’m hot too, and quit hogging all the fans!” Jordan then bops Reggie on the head causing him to yell out a pained “Ow!” . Jordan snatches a fan away from Reggie. At that moment, the door swings open, Kyle, Matt, and Nathan come back holding ice cream cones in their hands “We’re back.” Matt was already eating his cone. “Hey, I thought you were going to get us ice cream?” Reggie scratches his head. “What kind of a parlor would serve milkshakes in cones?” Jordan asks tilting his head.

Nathan lets out a sigh. “Sorry guys, but they melted.” Eyes wide, Jordan and Reggie go “WHAAT?!”. “How the hell could they melt?! I know it’s hot outside but the god damned ice cream parlor is just down the street! I thought I told you guys to hurry the hell up with those cones?!” Jordan exclaimed; Reggie nods in agreement giving the trio a cross look. “Well we tried to hurry back but we had to stop Kyle from embarrassing himself...” Nathan sighs. “Hey, I swear I saw the real life Luka Megurine guys!” Kyles yells defensively. Nathan punches Kyle and says: “You saw a mirage! And you were kissing a god damned fire hydrant!”. Matt lets out a sigh “He’s worse at work....”. Jordan and Reggie both glare at Kyle. Kyle then puts his hands together pleadingly. “Please, please PLEASE don’t tell Luka-tan! PLEASE!”. Jordan lets out a sigh “We won’t...but only because we need you alive to fight the Anons.” Reggie also sighs. “Can we just go down to the Secret Base? I need its powerful air conditioning...” The group nods in agreement and begin to head downstairs.

Coming down the elevator, the group lets out a satisfied “Aaaaaaaaaah......” as they feel the temperature beginning to drop drastically to a more comfortable level. The door opens but they could see Luka was not happy at all, evidenced by the fact that she was tapping her foot impatiently and had her arms crossed. “Luka! Sweetie! Aww you waited for me and....” Luka suddenly pulls Kyle’s ear. “Ow, ow, ow, ow hey Luka! C’mon what gives?!” Kyle asks. “Idiot! How can you still have those Luka delusions when you have the real damned thing in front of you?!” She yells. “W..wait...wait? You saw that But how...ow, ow, ow, ow! The pain!”. “HELLLOOOO! I’m still hard wired into the base’s security systems! This includes the cameras inside Jordan’s shop! Have you forgotten that the cameras now serve as an extension of my eyes and ears?!” Luka twists Kyle’s ear harder. “Oh right...heh...heh...I uh...forgot about that um...please forgive me?”. Luka begins walking off. “Not a chance! I’m gonna get those delusions out of you even if it kills you!”

The group could only watch Luka drag Kyle off to who knows where, they all let out a sigh at the same time “I can’t decide if Kyle’s the luckiest bastard I know or the unluckiest...” Matt says. “Not everyday your delusional fantasies come real...” Jordan says. “Well for us...it kind of does happen every day...” Reggie replies. The group sans Kyle then walks into the Command Center. The group hear Ai letting out the longest, and most depressed sigh they’ve ever heard. She was sitting at the round table, with her chin touching the table and in her hand she had a tablet. “Why the long face Ai?” Reggie asks, walking up towards her. Ai sits up, and brushes away a tear “Ooooh it’s nothing.....” Reggie then snatches the tablet out of her hand with a “Yoink!” Reggie begins to scroll through her tablet. “Hey give that back!” Ai shouts but to no avail. “These are photos from a wedding?” Ai then stomps on Reggie’s foot, causing Reggie to grab his foot and hop up and down. He then returns Ai’s tablet to her. “Yes! They are! Cousin Junichi’s to be exact!” Ai yells “Yuki-chan sent them to me and...and I’m happy for him but...I don’t know why I’m so sad...” Ai clutches her Tablet, and her eyes become watery. Reggie hugs her, saying “Hey, hey, hey no tears okay! I get it you’re just a little homesick, so why don’t you go visit then?”. Ai blinks and turns to face Reggie. “I...I can’t, my work here is much too important and...”.Reggie Interjects as he grabs Ai’s chin and lifts it up gently. He’s about to move in for a kiss when suddenly the group shouts: “VACATION!”. Reggie lets out a groan, he pulls away and yells “Thanks for killing the mood! And who said you guys were invited?! Yeeesh”.

Ai tilts her head “Go to Japan? For real? But...what about our fight with the Anons? What if they attack while we’re out and...” At that exact moment, Will comes in saying: “Did I hear right? Are we seriously going to Japan?” He and James take their usual seats. “I’ve always wanted to go Japan!” Will says with excitement “The sights...the culture......the food...the legendary toy shopping...” James nudges Will, “The cute Japanese ladies just waiting to be picked up? Eeeeh, eeeeeh?” He says while raising his eyebrows up and down. Reggie lets out a sigh, but a light bulb suddenly goes off in his head. “You guys can’t go to Japan with us.” Will and James would both let out a gasp “What?!” Will shouts, followed by James who asks, "And why not?!”. Reggie immediately comes up with an excuse. “Because with the two of us gone, that’ll make you two official super heroes!”. Both Will and James will tilt their heads “Official...?” Will asks to which James finishes by saying “Heroes?”. Reggie looks towards the group of ModRangers giving them a “C’mon help me out here guys!” kind of look. “Huh...? Uh...R-Right! Right!” Jordan walks over towards the two and places his hand firmly on their shoulders standing them up. “With us gone, we’ll need someone to defend the city. That’s where you two come in!.” Nathan nods “Right, right! With us gone, that’ll make you official Rangers! Oooor Kamen Riders...or Henshin Heroes...ooor whatever you feel like calling yourselves!” Matt jumps in, adding, “And the chicks dig the hero type! Isn’t that right, Ai?”. Ai blinks and suddenly begins to blush “H-huh?! T...that’s not....n-no comment!” She turns away from the prying eyes of the group. “Hey isn’t that why you were attracted to me? Ooomph!” Before Reggie could finish, he feels Ai elbowing him in the side shouting “BAKA, URUSAI!”. Will and James looks towards each other. “Official Heroes...?” Smiling, the two nod and both say “Alright! We’ll do it! We won’t go to Japan with you guys!” Much to the shock of everyone. “What do we have to do? What do we have to do?!” An Eager Will asks with James nodding along. Reggie walks over, and grabs them by the shoulder. “Juuuuuuuuuuust make sure the Hanger is clear tonight. As for the rest of us...do what you need to do and lets meet up here before everyone leaves tonight....oh and someone should probably tell Kyle about this too.” The group nods.

The day was beginning to wind down. Most of CPU’s staff had already gone home though a few lingered. Will and James stood behind to make sure no one stayed behind. However just as the last person left, the elevator would come back down once more, and both Ryan and Max would step out. “So this is CPU HQ eh?” Max says, Ryan lets out an impressed whistle. “Y’know, this is my first time here but something about this place makes it feel like home…” Max nods in agreement. “Yeah I know what you mean...Tony did say we use to work here after all...let’s check this place out.”

Will and James watch Ryan and Max heading down towards the hanger. Both would look towards each other with an “oh shit!” look on their faces. Ryan and Max found themselves in the hanger. Ryan wore a smile on his face as he brushed his hand against the hull of the ModPhoenix. “Quite a marvel of engineering aren’t they?” Ryan says. Max nods in agreement. “I wonder who made them? This level of tech shouldn’t be possible in the 21st century....in fact a lot of our weapons shouldn’t be possible with this era’s level of tech.” Outside, James leaned ever so slightly and peaked inside the hanger. “This is bad...the guys are gonna be here soon...we’ve gotta get those two out of here ASAP! Hey Will...you ready yet?” James turned to Will who was dressing up in a monster costume, a left over prop from a short film they did once. “Don’t rush me!” Will snaps back at James he grumbles slipping the arms on next. “This is so embarrassing...why do I have to wear this stupid costume?!” He asks, to which James answers: “Because you picked rock when you should’ve picked scissors! Now stop complaining and get ready!” James leaps out from hiding, he begins to wave his arms; trying to get Ryan and Max’s attention “Help! You guys gotta come quick! There’s a monster out here!!!”. Ryan and Max let out a gasp. They turn to see Will who came out wearing a costume which looked like a poorly put together Godzilla with a horn and no spines on his back. He begins to move in a monster-like manner going “Grrrrrr.....rawr!” Ryan and Max both quickly turn to them, Ryan shouts: “Anons!” While Max adds: “We’re under attack!” Both take out their respective transformation items shouting “Admin Access!” James lets out a gasp and turns to Will “Dude...RUN!”. Ryan and Max change into ModGold and Silver, promoting Will to scream. He runs, but the costume made things harder than normal and Will would nearly trip on his own feet. “James, if I die, I swear to whatever deity you believe in that I’ll do whatever it takes to come back and haunt you for the rest of your miserable life!!!”

With the coast clear, a vent cover would suddenly fall down. Dressed in all black, Reggie zip lines down from the vent and lands on top of the ModPhoenix with a grin, but at that moment the back door suddenly opens with a “swish” and the group walks inside the hanger “Dude, why didn’t you just come in through the back door like the rest of us?” Reggie could only faceplam, and grumbles to himself.”We don’t have a lot of time, I’m gonna get this bird ready to fly.” Reggie says. The ModRangers and Ai walk into the ModPhoenix, and strap themselves into the cockpit “I can’t believe Kristin was okay letting with letting you go to Japan by yourself.” Nathan says. “Normally, she’d probably say no but this trip couldn’t happen at a better time; she’s spending the weekend camping with her sisters, which means I would’ve had the house all to myself anyways.” Nathan smiles and high fives Jordan “Niiiiice!”. Reggie fiddles with the ModPhoenix’s dashboard. The engines start up; they whir with a powerful, machine-like sound, and the hangar bay doors in front of them open up. Grabbing a microphone, Reggie says, “Ah this is your Captain speaking we’re about to depart for Tokyo Japan. The time in Japan is...well probably tomorrow. And the weather...actually, I have no clue what the weather is currently like in Japan but it must be better than the inferno hell we’ve had to deal with these last few days...” Jordan suddenly inturrupts Reggie’s rambling, shouting: “Will you quit screwing around and take off already?!?” Turning back to Jordan, Reggie shouts, “I was getting to that part! Please fasten your seat belts and keep all chairs and trays in the upright position.” Matt laughs. “Yeah right, like we’re gonna listen to a damned thing you say", and starts leaning back on his chair.

The thrusters suddenly kick in propelling the ModPhoenix forward at high velocity. Matt’s chair is suddenly thrown back, and if not for the seatbelt he strapped on he would’ve been sent flying. Meanwhile, ModGold tackles Will to the ground. Will lets out a scream and the head to his costume falls off. ModGold is about to punch Will but suddenly stops; his fist was inches away from Will’s face. It’s at that moment they hear the ModPhoenix taking off, “Someone’s stealing the ModPhoenix!” Ryan says and the two charge back towards the hangar. They arrive just as the ModPhoenix takes off.

The ModPhoenix takes to the skies, little by little California gradually fades into a tiny spec on the water. “Anno...are you sure you know which way Japan is Reggie-san?” Ai asks.

“Are we there yet?” “No.” “Are we there yet?” “No.” “Are we there yet? “FOR THE LAST TIME KYLE, NO! IT’S A 14 HOUR FLIGHT, SO SHUT UP!” “Geez Jordan, I wasn’t asking you, I was asking Reggie. I mean, he’s flying this thing after all...so Reggie, are we there yet?” “No Kyle.” The group was part way there. Matt was listening to music, Nathan was watching a movie, Kyle was poking at Jordan’s head and Jordan was staring angrily at Kyle. Reggie looked to his side and saw Ai sleeping. Putting his jacket onto Ai, she started to shift around before she started to sleep talk. “Mmm...Reggie-Kun, should I put the bunny ears back on?” The group all dropped what they were doing and stared at Ai. “What did she just say?” asks Matt, holding his headphones. “No-nothing guys, really! Nothing at all!” Reggie says, flailing his arms around. “Mmm...Reggie-Kun...your lips taste like vanilla...” “Vanilla?! Oh man!” Kyle says, bursting into laughter. “Uh...shut up Kyle!” “Bunny ears...vanilla...dude, please tell me you took some pictures!” Nathan says, laughing “It didn’t really happen, Nathan!” Reggie yells in response “Mmm...I should stay at your apartment more often Reggie-Kun, but I’m glad we’ve been having so much fun...” says Ai; still sleeping, with her face turning bright red. “What kind of fun?” asks Nathan, nudging Reggie with his elbow. “NATHAN, I SWEAR I’M GONNA LEAVE YOU IN HERE WHEN WE LAND! I WILL WRAP YOU UP IN CHAINS AND LOCK YOU INTO YOUR SEAT!” Reggie screams furiously. “Mmm...Reggie-Kun...wrap me in your arms...” “Ai, please wake up!” Ai hears her boyfriend yell and looks around at the other ModRangers staring at her awkwardly. “I...I was sleep talking again...wasn’t I?” “Yeah you were!” says Kyle, goofily smiling at her. “Oh please tell me I didn’t mention the photoshoot!” Ai exclaimed nervously “Photoshoot?!?” the group yells in unison. “So there were pictures!” Nathan yells “ARGH!!! WHY AREN’T WE THERE YET?!?!”

As soon as they land, Ai shows everyone that they need to continue on foot. After going through a forest, the team came to small town. “Minna-san! Come here!” Ai says, waving to them. Following the sound of her voice, they find themselves in front of a large traditional Japanese style inn. “Ta-da! My inn and house!” “Ai, it’s huge!” Jordan says, amazed. “Well, duh! My family is one of the most influential ones in the country!” Ai says proudly. “Does that mean you’re rich!?” Kyle asks. “Well my grandparents are” Ai explains, “They set up inns like this across the country.” “So there’s like a bunch of A-list Japanese celebrities hanging around here?! Right?! Right?!” Kyle asks excitedly “Actually Kyle-san...to allow you all in, I had to rent the whole inn using part of my inheritance...so...it’s just gonna be us and my family in here.” Kyle left to sulk near a tree before he jolted up. “Wait, family...does that mean Yuki-chan is here?!” “Kyle, what are you doing?” Ai asks, “Horrible, you have Luka-chan at home...” “Yuki-chan!!!” Kyle zips past everybody to the front door. “Kyle-san, hold up!” Ai yells,“Grab him!”. As they hold Kyle back, the front door flies open. There was Yuki, bowing in traditional Japanese clothing. “I]ve been waiting for you, Reggie-sama.” “Uh...Yuki...what are you doing?” Ai asks “Preparing for our wedding, of course!” said Yuki leaping up, arms spread wide. Grabbing onto Reggie and bringing her lips to him, Ai jumps up and pushes Yuki away. “ONORE!” Ai yells, “YUKI, REGGIE IS MY MAN!” “I love it when she’s angry,” Reggie says to himself, goofily smiling. “Aw come on, Onee-chan! Do you really think you have what a guy likes?” Yuki says condescendingly. “Just because you’re taller than me, doesn’t mean that Reggie likes me any less!” Ai yells in anger. “I wasn’t talking about your height,” Yuki says while posing. “Tch. I’m the older one! Why did you get the good stuff?!” Ai asks angrily “Oh my, who is this?” an unfamiliar voice says. The group stopped as the guy’s eyes all widened- a woman who appeared to be in her late twenties with a figure that rivaled Yuki’s stood in the doorway. “Oh!” She walked up to Reggie and grabbed his chin. “Uh…” Reggie said, blushing “I approve Ai, this is a cute one!” The woman says approvingly “Damn it Reggie, why do all the girls think that about you?!” Matt yells “Yeah, save Ai’s sisters for us!” Nathan exclaimed with jealousy “Sister?” Ai says, confused, “Guys, this is my mother.” “WHAT?!?” The group yells, astonished “I am Hinata Kurosawa, the current head of the Kurosawa family.” From behind her, a Japanese man in a business suit walked out. “Otou-san!” Ai ran up to the man and gave him a hug. “So these are your friends, huh?” Ai’s father asked, letting go of his daughter. Walking up to Reggie, he stares at him. “So you are my daughter’s boyfriend, huh?” “Ye-yes sir...” “Come with me. We need to discuss something. Ai, you come too.” “Yes, Otou-san!” Ai said, grabbing Reggie’s hand as they walked into the house with her parents. “Dudes, I have a feeling we aren’t gonna see Reggie ever again...” Kyle says in a concerned tone, “We might wanna go in after him.”

Reggie and Ai found themselves sitting across from Ai’s parents. The doors and windows shut, an eerie silence filled the room. While Ai’s mother was smiling, her father was scowling. Suddenly, a door burst open and Yuki strolled in. “I hope I’m not interrupting!” Yuki said, rushing to Reggie’s free arm and hugging it. “Yuki, I know you are my little girl, but please, le-” “Please Papa, can I stay in here?” Yuki asked, with big puppy dog eyes. “Oh! I can’t say no to my little girl!” “Spoiled brat...” Ai says under her breath “What was that, Onee-chan?” “Nothing, nothing at all.” “Now, you probably know why I called you all in here. It’s to discuss this relationship.” Ai’s father said. “Sir, I want you to know that I love your daugh-” “Silence! You will not speak unless I tell you to!” “Otou-san!” “Quiet Ai!” “Ye...yes sir...” Ai says, slinking closer to Reggie. “Get up, boy.” “Yes sir.” As Reggie stood up, Ai’s father approached him. As he moved closer to him, Ai’s father could see the difference in height between the two of them. “Ahem...how tall are you?” “180 cm, sir!” “Tall...I mean, sit back down.” “Yes sir!” “Now, Ai, tell me. You said your boyfriend was American. He does not look American.” “Otou-san, he’s Filipino, but he was born in America, so he is American.” “Hmm...what does he do for a living?” “He’s currently a student at California State University Long Beach, Otou-san.” “A student, huh? What do you study, boy?” “Theater Arts, sir.” Reggie answers honestly “What a waste. You should study something more useful, like business or medicine.” Ai’s father says disapprovingly “He’s just following his dream Otou-san!” Ai protests “Hold your tongue Ai!...but I guess that if you can make a success of yourself, and can truly make Ai happy, I can approve of this relationship.” Ai and Reggie looked at each other in delight and hugged. As they reached to drink their tea, Ai’s father adjustes himself. “Just make sure to bear me some healthy, tall grandchildren.” Ai’s father states matter-of-factly. Ai and Reggie spat their drinks out. “Papa! Don’t you think that Reggie-sama and I would make a better pair? We’re both tall, which increases the chances of taller children!” Yuki says suddenly “You are right...Reggie, I demand that you dump my shorter older daughter for my younger taller one.” Suddenly, Ai’s mother gets up and smacks her husband and younger daughter with her purse. “I’m sorry for what my husband has said. He thinks that all because he married into the family, he can push people around like that, but he should know better who is the true head of this family.” “Ye-yes dear.” Ai’s father says sheepishly “I will approve of this relationship 100%. Our ancestors once told us that a young foreign man would help bring happiness to the head family’s daughter, who was prophesied to be born on the day of January tenth. I believe that you two are bound by fate. And with that, we must go. Ai, your father and I have to go meet with the other members of our clan, so it will just be you, Yuki, and your friends. I hope you all enjoy your stay.” Hinata explains. Just as she grabbed onto the collar of her husband, the door opens again as Kyle, Matt, Jordan and Nathan fell through. “So...does this mean I can date Yuki-chan?” Kyle pleads. “NO!!!” everybody shouts. “Aw man!” Nathan gets up quickly and observes Ai and then her mother. “Hm...” Kyle says while staring at Hinata longingly “What are you staring at?...” “I didn’t know ‘growth of certain things’ skipped a generation.” “Dude?!” “I’m still growing, okay?!” Suddenly, a bullet whizzed past Nathan’s head. “I’m sorry, but what did you say about my precious daughter? And what did you just eye right now?” “No-nothing ma’am!” Nathan said, hiding behind Kyle. “At least I’m not as bad as this guy, he wants to hook up with Yuki!” “Dude!” Suddenly, a sword was brought up to Kyle’s face. “What do you want to do with my little girl?” “Nothing sir!!!” “This tea is good.” “Damn it Matt, help!” “Why did I agree to go on this stupid trip?”
