As an alternative, go for the movies instead. The first two are basically the series perfectly re-told in the span of 4 hours. Cheaper than buying the series volumes.
I don't like movie versions of anime series as they cut out character development, little events that sometimes are superior to the big ones, etc.
And if Aniplex does not want to sell it for a better price, than I guess I just won't bother with the series, especially when I can pick up all 26 episodes of Psycho Pass on BD next month for around $100.

Just go for the manga. Unlike the anime, which will take you about 3 hours to get good, the manga is quicker and gets good in the second volume. By Volume 5, the series is incredible. The events of Volume 5 are in I think episodes 15-18.

I would be nice if someone would actually care about the series and start releasing the god damned Jp version on video in the US. I am so tired of these constant releases with that shitty ass garbage 4Kids called an English dub.
